Arc 3 Crew

It's nearly finished!

I've got just about all the flats done, and I'm going to start shading in a little bit. I just wanted to take a break--I've been working on it for a few hours already today.

This is the crew for the third arc of SciFi, being run by John. Five players, plus three/four NPCs played by John.

From left to right: "Captain" James Aldrich, Arthur, Nick, Brynn, Aleksi, Anya (played by me), Matthew, Aaron and Chair.

Plus Toby/Pepper, underneath Anya.

Finished Works

Sorry for the double post. Kind of. ...Not really.
But! I realized that while I've posted sketches and WIP's on here, I haven't really posted the finished versions.

First up, Dreamland:

I actually finished the drawing of Anya and Matthew, and I'm really happy with it! The grass was a bitch to do, by the way. But I'm really glad that I did it by hand, and not with the grass brush.

I took my time on this piece, moreso than I usually do. I gave them both pretty realistic hair. Well. Fairly realistic. Still kind of cell-shaded, but.. less so. :)

Also, Anya's got pink nails because she and Brynn had a girl's night with Aria. It was awesome.

Nextly, The Icarus Crew:

I ended up really hating the sketch I originally posted on here, so I just re-drew the whole thing. I'm really glad I did, honestly. This one looks so much better. I left John out of it, and I feel a little bad. But it does make more sense, in this case, to have just the characters.

Ego WIP Update

Remember that Ego sketch I posted forever ago?

Well, I've been working on it.
I'm actually more done that this lets on. I've gotten all of the flats done, and I've even started shading a little bit.

I've done a few drawings and sketches in my new sketchbook, too. I haven't been able to scan them in yet (read: I've been too lazy to hook the scanner and the computer together), but I'll get to it soon. There's a drawing in there that I'm really excited to work on. :)

New Sketchbook

I just bought a new sketchbook at the Wet Paint Sidewalk Sale. It's very pretty--9 x 12, so I can actually hold paper in the back. It folds over the stop, which'll be kind of weird to get used to.

I fully intend to try out more figure drawing in this book. Also, more naked people. Because those are always fun. I would like to get my style a little more defined by the time I'm done with it.

Clear goals for my new book:
-Work on figure drawing
-Find a style I like for drawing faces
-Do at least one drawing of three or more people

I might add some more later, if I think of some.

Sketches

I scanned in a couple of sketches. I haven't cropped or resized them, so beware of huge images and sketchbook rings:

This is one of Peter the Wessendorf in, yes, hooker boots and a mini-skirt. I'm going to color this, and his skirt will be bright pink. It's gonna rock. It all started with a journal-meme, in which he said something about making his money being a man-whore on the streets.
Drawings ensued.

Secondly, I have costume sketches to show. I'm planning on putting together a Steampunk costume (since I adore steampunk.)
These are our "aristocrat" looks. I really like fancy cigarette holders, so I really wanted to incorporate one. The guy costume there is meant to go to John. He had a big hand in helping me design it.
The bottom, sideways drawing is me attempting to make an air-pirate type thing. Basically, I want an excuse to wear these cool pants that I saw. But, I really can't get the drawing to work out right. My though was that if I spend the money on a nice corset (not the ones from CON, which are like 400$. But a "real" nice one. Like from Fredrick's. Which are like 50-60$), I should try and use it in both costumes. Ja?

Lastly, I have a drawing from game last week. We were playing Changeling. And our characters literally opened up a detective agency. John's character is this huge guy, and my character is a tiny four-year old who's attached herself to him. She usually rides around on his shoulders. She also keeps a cell phone in her boot, so we can get hold of the rest of the party. John, Peter and Bren have all had their characters wandering around like cops in movies from the 40's-ish. It's really funny. But my character, Jenny, wanted to wear the hat. Since she's so tiny, you can't really see much of her face when she wears it.

Uhm.. that's it for now. If you want to see these sketches when they're finished and colored and nice, check out my deviantart, at http://muffinsquire.deviantart.com . Thanks!

Matthew and Anya

I love this drawing so much! :D

It's from the Friday tabletop role-playing game I'm in. The girl in the back, Anya, is my character. The boy in her lap, Matthew, is an NPC, played by my boyfriend, John. I'm really glad it isn't someone else playing him, or that could get pretty awkward. :/

Gaming chibis

Wow, lookit me go, not posting for almost a whole month. :/

Anyway. I've been drawing pictures of all the characters I've played for tabletop games. I obviously haven't been playing long. :3

This is Anya. She was my first real character. I played her for the game that my friend Ian ran, which took up about half the school year; probably a little more.

Maja is the first character I played for a serious group. She's a seven year old psychic in a game that my boyfriend, John, ran for us.

Finally, Anya. She's my current character for SciFi, which John is also running. Anya is actually Maja, just ten years older. She hit her head while out on a mission, and lost her memories. It's been the source of a lot of fun. For me, at least. :3
