Busy Busy Busy

Man, did anyone else watch that animated version of Frosty the Snowman? I loved that movie when I was little, even though the GIGANTIC FEET bugged the crap out of me. (Sorry, that's what the title of this post reminded me of...)

Anyway. I've been super busy with school. I have piles and piles of homework, plus I have to try and work on cleaning my room, attempt to have a social life, knit, and--oh right--sleep. Basically, if it weren't for art class, I would rarely get a chance to draw at all. Sort of. xP

Speaking of art class, this is what we're working on right now.
(Sorry for the terrible quality. I had to take a photo with my phone, since I'm leaving my gigantor sketchbook at school unless I have to.)

It's a negative space drawing! Or, it will be, at least! See how some of the parts have started being blacked in? Yeah. We have all of the next class period to work on it, and I didn't want to start filling in huge spaces without charcoal if I couldn't fix it, and I can't really fix it until it's done.
But I'm really proud of this one! And! And! And! My professor used my drawing as an example for some of the students who weren't getting it for what a negative space drawing "should" look like. I was super proud of myself. :)

I also did a continuous line drawing of John in my class sketchbook that I'm super proud of. If I get the chance, I'll upload it. I just need to figure out how to scan it in or something without tearing it out.

Oodles of Doodles

I compiled a buncha doodles/sketches from the first half of my sketchbook, and put them all together. :) I then colored some of them in photoshop by way of the "multiply" option.
There are a bunch of drawings of Anya and Maja, my two main RP characters. Then there's some fanart, some more RP drawings, and some life drawings. If you want to know more about a specific drawing, ask! That's what the numbers are for! ...Though I think there's two 13's or 12's or something. =3=

Update by Way of Art Dump

HEY GUESS WHAT.
Art Dump.

This first one is my D&D character for the campaign we're sort-of-currently playing. (Our two main DMs switch off, and it's currently the other game.) She used to work in a brothel, but then she was saved by some religious type person, and decided to devote herself to a religion. Thankfully, she managed to find a goddess who . . . shares her views. She's trying really hard, she just has no idea what she's doing. This is part of my Convention Adventure series, actually. It's my friend Anna at CONvergence 2009. Most of these can be found at muffinsquire.deviantart.com, if you're interested.
This is an ID I made to use on my deviantart page. I basically traced a photograph, then modified it somewhat. This is my most current ID. Also, it's a .png, so I apologize if Blogger freaks out when you try and look at it.This drawing is going to be sold at Anime Detour 2010, and is actually a redraw of a picture I did about a year ago. Zelda, Link and Malon. :3

From life.

I have two drawings to share today. One of them is an updated WIP of an earlier drawing I posed, and the other is a digital life drawing. This first drawing is just an updated version of the SciFi drawing. I fixed some of the lineart between this version and the last time I posted, also, but I don't know if anyone will notice. Anyone other than me, obviously. I moved Anya's head so it's further back, so it doesn't look like she's sticking her face out all awkwardly. I also rotated Aaron almost entirely--everything except for his feet, which were flat on the ground to begin with. Now he's not falling serenely onto Matthew.
I tried something new with the eyes in this one. I actually gave them some life. This is the first time, with this style of face, that I have done anything with the eyes other than making them a flat, solid bit of color. I'm really happy with them so far.

This second drawing is my life drawing, obviously. I have a skintone set for photoshop that I downloaded off of DeviantART a long time ago. I've wanted to try digital painting for a really long time, but never really had the chance to. I know I'm not ready to do it without a reference, at the very least.
I'm pretty proud of this drawing. I know that it isn't the best drawing ever or anything, but I feel like it's a solid first try.
I haven't put this one up on DeviantART yet, though, cause I don't want to embarrass John. A lot of mutual friends watch me, and would see it. But I'm pretty confident that no one other than him reads this blog, if even that many.

Moar WIPs

I was drawing last night, but couldn't cinvince myself to stick with one drawing or another. So, I worked on three.

I love pin ups. Especially ones that are classy, like ones from the 1950's through the 70's? Yeah. I wish I could draw like those.

Chibi Spartan!
I drew this at a chick flick night last summer. I intend to turn it into a bookmark, for Anime Detour this year. I need to look up references, though, before I can finish coloring it

.
This last one is the one I'm most excited about. I've even fixed up the lineart from last time I worked on it. I think it looks much better.

Brynn and Anya, colored!

I finished coloring the drawing! And look, I even pretended to put a background on it! :D

Again, this is Brynn (the white haired girl) and Anya (the blond), from SciFi Arc 3.

I am really happy with the shading in this, and I'm having a ton of fun drawing.

Two New'uns

The first drawing I have for you today is a WIP. I just finished the lineart now. :)
On the left is my friend Laura's RP character for a science fiction game we played during last school year/summer. (It was a very long, two part game, basically.) On the right is my character for that game, Anya. Our characters lived together on the same ship, and were basically best friends.
This line art is really old--five or six months, at least. And at the rate [I feel] I have been improving recently, that makes a big difference. This is also before I started forcing myself to draw characters without their toes pointing together. x(

This second one is a finished drawing that I'm actually really proud of. It's the new banner for my webcomic, Loser Corner. The website isn't live yet, but I'm getting everything ready for John to code it for me. (<3 ) From the left, it's Laura, Anna, Kari, Peter, Ellie, Me and John.
Ellie, John and me are the characters that appear most often--that's why we're bigger. The other four appear the second most often, I suppose.
I had a ton of fun drawing this. I'm really proud of the shading, particularly on Laura (in the yellow). I used stock/flickr for the bricks/Peter's shirt, though. I plan to change that at the earliest possible time.
